About the Centres

We support projects at three locations run by the directors of Trung Tâm Bảo Trợ Em Vũng Tàu (the Centre for Social Protection of Children).

'P' Centre in Phan Bội Châu Street, Ward 2 of Vũng Tàu City receives babies who are abandoned or surrendered and is home for infants and children up to seven years old, as well as older children in need of ongoing health or development care. Many of the babies and children living at 'P' Centre are HIV+. Others have physical disabilities.

'N' Centre in Ngô Quyền Street, Thắng Nhất Ward of Vũng Tàu City is home to children aged between seven and 18 years. Most of the children living here attend school daily. As they grow older they also learn some basic vocational skills such as sewing, as well as life skills such as cooking and cleaning.

The first stage of Long Hải Centre opened in October 2009 with the objective of providing schooling and a daily meal for poor children in the area. Older children learn how to sew, repair and maintain motor bikes, or provide hairdressing and beauty services. Stage 2 has recently been completed and opened in April 2012. It provides full residential care to children affected by Agent Orange, as well as being a general purpose residential children's protection centre.

More details about the centres, the care and services provided, and the issues that the centres deal with can be found on the official website - www.vungtau-orphanage.com.
